Dive into the depths of the sea and swim alongside the Little Mermaid with the Czech National Ballet.
Everyone knows the story of the Little Mermaid, the young underwater creature yearning to exchange her fishtail for a pair of human legs, and who goes on to sacrifice her voice and her life for the love of an earthly prince. Czech composer Zbyněk Matějů has set Andersen's tale to music, and joins forces with choreographer Jan Kodet to take you on a poetic journey back to the world of your childhood. Dive into the depths of the sea among dolphins, mermaids and tritons, and rediscover this timeless tale with the brightest stars of the Czech music scene. Don't forget to keep it preciously on the shelves of your Vialma library, to be enjoyed anytime with your family!
In the distance, at the bottom of the ocean, which no anchor can reach and no human eye can see, is the home of marine beings: dolphins, mermaids etc. with the old mother and her daughter, the little mermaid, whose skin is as clear and smooth as a rose petal, eyes as blue as the deepest water, and whose greatest pleasure is to listen to stories from the human world far above. When she stands by the window and looks through the dark blue, the little mermaid thinks of a big noisy city on earth.
