Presented as an experimental jazz-rock ensemble, “Les Comptes de Korsakoff” transports us to the borders, in disorder, of epic narration, jazz and rock, music in general, the burlesque of Monty Pithons, the fantastic of Tim Burton, Mel Brooks Madness. Beyond the theatrical dimension which rests largely on the shoulders of Geoffrey Grangé on bass and vocals, the musical culture background evokes the great era of concept albums, with psychedelic reminiscences of Pink Floyd (the lyrical interventions of the cello held by Marie-Claude Condamin are reminiscent of the symphonic outbursts of Atom Heart Mother), the grandiloquence of Ange or the street bands of New Orleans.
The Comptes de Korsakoff are an extraordinary jazz-rock group, a unique musical experience. With two, three, eight musicians, they like to take you on a journey with a troubling story: that of Karl. A chiselled soundtrack is born with each new chapter of the adventures of the character whose instruments draw the strange destiny.
Cast: Geoffrey Grangé (Bass Vocals), Marie-Claude Condamin (Cello), Guillaume Pluton (Trumpet and Bugle), Diego Fano (Alto and Soprano Saxophones), Grégory Julliard (Euphonium Trombone), Romain Baret (Guitar), Christophe Blond (Piano), Quentin Lavy (Drums)
