JOACHIM KÜHN TRIO

There are artists who, even at seventy, continue to search. Adventurer, Joachim Kühn has always been, in music as in life: after fleeing his native GDR in 1966, he lived in turn in West Germany, France, California, and today in Ibiza, along a route that has brought him to rub shoulders with the greatest, to Ornette Coleman, one of the major influences on which he was able to build a style that belongs only to him. Halfway between the classical European heritage and jazz at its most free, the prodigy pianist has been open, for ten years, to inspirations from the Orient.
Witness this cosmopolitan trio, marked by the personalities of the Spanish drummer Ramon Lopez and the Moroccan singer and guembri player Majid Bekkas, who infuse the group with the ritual trance of the Gnawa tradition, born on the borders of Africa and the Arab world. Together, they have already come a long way, met Berber musicians in the heart of the Sahara, given a concert in a disused Berlin airport, or just recently recorded with Archie Shepp. The adventure therefore continues, for one evening, in Ramatuelle. Will you take the caravan on the way?
Cast: Joachim Kühn, Chris Jennings, Eric Schaefer
