In 2012, The Seven Eleven celebrated their 25th anniversary with the anthology album: "25 years and still funkin". After a memorable jubilee concert of the band in October 2012 in Uden (Netherlands), with prestigious guests such as HandieMan, U-Gene, and DTF, a jubilee tour followed with other concerts in the Netherlands, in Belgium and France. We find them in their 26th year at the Pleins Feux Festival, their mix of funk, hip-hop, and Jazz has not aged a bit!
Seven Eleven was founded in Amsterdam in 1987 by former bandmembers of the Savannah Fun Brigade. The first Seven Eleven recordings ‘Get the funk outta here’ and ‘Funk Instruction’ were released on cd in 1989.
In 2016 Seven Eleven has won The Rock Award of the State Colorado in the category Global Eye Performance. In 2017 the song ‘Good Life’ was chosen to grace the first Home of the International Funk Out compilation album, released by Serious Records Inc. Also last year the track ‘7-1-1’ was nominated in the song category Funk/Fusion/Jam of the 15th Annual Independent Music Awards (The IMAs), the influential awards program in de USA for independent artists and releases.
