A soul combo with a confirmed pedigree, the DD's BROTHERS are eight, with the particularity of dividing their vocal parts between their two singers: the Congolese Dora Kuvuna and the Californian Dorien Smith.

To claim soul, you have to have a heart. The DD's Brothers undoubtedly have it, and do not fail to use it, to make it beat in rhythm and communion. For them, the "brothers" is not just a linguistic accessory aimed at draping them in the beauty of vintage. All are brothers, literally or not, united by blood or by music for sometimes more than a decade. Wishing to take their common passion further, the group of friends formed the DD's Brothers in 2012....

These young people have obviously worked on their classics, because from the Four Tops ("You Need To Fight") and the Supremes ("You Won't Forget") to Smokey Robinson ("Heavy Chains") and Gladys Knight ("No No No" and the titular track), they reproduce what can be appreciated most authentically in this register. "From The Day Till The Dawn" the freshness and enthusiasm of Motown's hits, and that's where the masterstroke lies, because with "From The Day Till The Dawn" it's not about pastiche or covers: everything here comes from their own pen! Is it absolutely necessary to specify it? Six of these eight Brothers are French, but we defy anyone to detect it by simply listening to this excellent album (as well as to date the recording, as the production turns out to be as vintage as the arrangements). Demanding amateurs, at the table, it is best enjoyed hot...!
