Ben Toury is a universe unto itself. Freshly entered his thirties, it's not nothing to be compared to Jerry Lee Lewis!
A young French pianist-autodidact Benjamin Toury get the full halls since 11 years old. At an early age he had a specialisation in blues and boogie-woogie, but now the has more than 15 styles in his repertoire, such as rock & roll, gypsy swing, hip hop, funk, rap boogie and others.
A hint of his appeal comes in the disclaimer on his most recent album, Ben Toury Live: ‘Useful against bad mood and depression.’ Ben is a spectacular performer, blending high speed pianism with show-stopping business – a mix of Harry Connick’s crooning and Jerry Lee Lewis’s virtuoso piano playing plus! For much of his career he combined classical touches with Arabic melodies, but in recent years he is getting back to his roots with the Wild Boogie Woogie albums.
Cast: Ben Toury (Vocals, Piano, Harmonica, Ghughuru), Olivier Louvel (Guitar, Backing vocals), Philip Wozniak (Double bass, Backing vocals), Yves Eouzan (Drums, Backing vocals)
