Don Quixote, the legendary ballet by composer Ludwig Minkus, based on the story of Cervantes' world classic, has experienced worldwide great fame and it has been represented on all main world ballet stages. For the first time in the MTS hall, the audience will have the opportunity to see this title performed by the Sofia Capital Ballet with the Choreography of Marius Petipa and Alexander Gorski.
The show will be performed by the extraordinary Dancers Elisabeth Formento in the role of Kitri and Yanier Gomez Noda in the role of Basil for the first time. The Set Design will be directed by Ivan Tkadijev, and the Costumes by Meglena Iliev.
The Ballet Stage will be directed by Yordan Krastev, acclaimed contemporary choreographer, earning the National Competition "Atanas Petrov" award in 2004. He was mentored by Peter Koldamov, he staged several ballets including "Don Quixote", which was performed with great success in UAE and was nominated the best performance of the year. He also staged a new production of "Swan Lake" specifically for Sofia Capital Ballet's tour in South Korea, and in 2014 created a new and unconventional choreography of Saint-Saëns' "Carnival of Animals", which was presented in various cities in Bulgaria.
