Les Hurlements d'Léo is a French Rock band from Bordeaux, Gironde. They play a genre that they jokingly define themselves as "java-song-punk-caravaning". Their name comes from the song Leo by the salespeople. The story begins in Bordeaux in 1996, where a group of 5 friends play in the bars and stages of the region.
They have been influenced by the likes of Les Négresses Vertes and combine traditional French sounds (complete with accordion) with sounds of gypsy, Latin, ska, punk and energetic rock. Their energy is particularly evident in their frequent live performances. Formed in 1995 they recorded their first album "Le Café des Jours Heureux" in 1998. So fare they have released five regular albums in France, including a live album. They have also collaborated with a number of other bands such as Les Ogres de Barback, Zombie Eaters, 17 Hippies and L'Enfance Rouge.
LES HURLEMENTS D'LÉO are a perpetual motion machine, which have marked an entire generation through their projects and collaborations without ever losing the rock/alternative song impulse of its beginnings. It is around the worrying situation of migrants that LES HURLEMENTS D'LÉO, under the impetus of their singer Laurent Kebous, always full of hope.
Cast: Laurent "Kebous" Bousquet (vocals, guitar), Erwan "R1 Wallace" Naour (vocals, guitar), Jocelyn "Jojo" Gallardo (accordion, trombone, keyboards, guitar), Cyril "Pépito" Renou (trumpet, vocals), Jean Nicolas Saillan (drums, percussion, machines), Vincent "Vince" Serrano (violin, tenor saxophone, vocals), Julien "Juju" Arthus (vocals, baritone saxophone, tenor saxophone, guitar), Renaud "Reno" Eychenne (double bass)
