The Orchestra of the Symphonic Meetings was created in 2014 by the conductor Vincent Gaillard. The first concert took place during the Absolute Gospel Festival in Lyon.
Over the years, the collaborations have evolved, gaining in intensity and richness. It was in 2009, 14 years ago, that Sabine Kouli embarked on a truly extraordinary adventure. She dared to take the bold step of bringing together singers from various vocal ensembles and gospel choirs in the Rhône-Alpes region, within the same project, to give life to an African-American gospel repertoire magnified by fusion with a symphony orchestra and a rhythmic, dynamic section (piano, bass, drums, brass) that ignite, rhythm and swing. Thus was born the concept of the "Symphonic Gospel", with the 60 choristers of the Lyon Gospel Mass Choir, joining forces with the Orchestre des rencontres symphoniques under the enlightened direction of Vincent Gaillard for a new musical adventure.
