With more than 400 scores over seven decades for cinema and television, 100 classical works, as well as 70 million records sold worldwide, Morricone is widely considered one of the most prolific and greatest film composers of all time. He has received numerous accolades including two Academy Awards, three Grammy Awards, three Golden Globes, six BAFTAs, ten David di Donatello, eleven Nastro d'Argento, two European Film Awards, the Golden Lion Honorary Award, and the Polar Music Prize in 2010.
The Legendary Composer wrote music for Once Upon a Time in America, The Untouchables, Cinema Paradiso and "spaghetti" Westerns that made Clint Eastwood a star. Having received an honorary Oscar in 2007, he went on to win one in 2016 for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight.
Morricone, who was simply known as "Maestro" in his home town of Rome.
"Discovering Morricone" is not only a concert, but a journey of words, suggestions and performances soloists that guide the audience through the decades that have made great Italian and international cinema and music. The lineup sees the inclusion of many new titles (Canone Inverso, Gli Intoccabili, Sacco e Vanzetti, La Califfa, Il segreto del Sahara), with arrangements that enhance its extraordinary beauty.
On stage will alternate soloists, first parts of important Italian theaters and symphonic institutions, such as the cello of the Maestro Ferdinando Vietti and the trumpet of Maestro Stefano Benedetti. Special guests the soprano Anna Delfino, darling of the European audience of the opera, which will revive the emotion of Deborah's Theme from "Once Upon a Time in America" and the violinist of the Circle du Soleil Attila Simon, who will perform the solo of Love Affair. To accompany the audience giving voice to the characters and to the settings the skill of the actor Andrea Bartolomeo actor, director and theater teacher. A perfect combination to be guided in this incredible journey through the melodies that have remained in the collective memory of generations.
The Ensemble Symphony Orchestra approaches Morricone's music after national and international collaborations important: Mario Biondi, Max Gazzè, Franco Battiato, Giovanni Allevi, Renato Zero, Francesco Renga, Pooh, Baustelle, PFM, Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Nile Rodgers, Sam Smith, Luis Bacalov. With over six hundred concerts between Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Holland, France, Austria, United Kingdom and Belgium, the orchestra presents great versatility and attention to all types of music, with a repertoire ranging from the most famous opera arias to film soundtracks world-renowned.
