In this piece originally conceived for two superimposed magnetic tapes, Pierre Henry used Wagner's music as a support and binding of a purely electroacoustic score, worked in the optics of concrete music, in order to create in his own words a kind of "Film without images" crossed by the sound of the wind, that of the night and the reminiscences of films by Terence Fischer and Nosferatu by Murnau.
Through editing and mixing, the composer crushed the leitmotifs of the Tetralogy (Fafner's sleep, Siegmund's flight, spring song, and so many others), while deepening the obsessive character and hypnotic fascination.
