Choreographed by Rui Lopes Graça after Marius Petipa, this ballet explores the tension between obsolescence and avant-garde.
In the first act, it delves into contemporary themes, while the second act embraces the classical virtuosity of Petipa’s choreography.
The Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, under the musical direction of Myron Romanul, accompanies the Ballet of the Opéra National du Rhin in this captivating production. Between the whimsical and the daring, Don Quixote’s spirit lives on, inspiring audiences to dream and reflect on both the past and the future, transporting us to the heart of Cervantes’ world, where knights, maidens, and chivalry intertwine in a dance of illusion and reality.
