It was in 1991 that the foundations of the Rêvolution Dance Company were laid, initially conceived as a collective of young artists. By animating this space of encounters and sharing where everyone's influences intersect and feed each other, the young artists claim a decompartmentalization of the choreographic field.
Over the years, their artistic identities have travelled, become richer, more distinctive and quite naturally their artistic convergences have diminished.
A transposition of the world of clubbing, BLISS embodies a cross-pollination between the sensibility of a choreographer and the world of clubs: diving into the fantasies and extravagances of these places. The dances that come to life there are nourished by hip-hop techniques to develop a hybrid and contemporary gesture.
This piece follows the journey of individuals, dancers for an evening or virtuosos, whose stories, big and small, feed off, intersect or miss each other, under the impetus and play of two musicians. In the midst of group effects, solitudes appear. Relationships with bodies and appearances are multiplying. The weight of everyday life evaporates in a massive gesture or more lightly.
BLISS is a one-night journey of lives for which dance is a source. A hungry, obstinate intoxication, a stirred and energetic gesture. Between exhaustion and transcendence, perdition and revelation, a world where dance is a way out...
