The experience of human suffering is the home of cancer patients, Aleppo and Mosul, mental illness and addiction… These are also our passions.
When J.S. Bach composes his Passion according to Saint Matthew, this "passion" is the agony and death of Christ, not just desires or strong emotions.
For this "Other Passion", formed from Bach's masterpiece, Swedish choreographer and filmmaker Pontus Lidberg addresses the universal theme of passion as suffering and desire.
Director: Pontus Lidberg (Choreography, Scenography and Film)
Cast: Ballet of the Grand Théâtre de Genève
