Cheick Tidiane Seck is a Malian musician, arranger and composer. He has written for and played with African artists including Fela Kuti, Mory Kanté, Salif Keita, Youssou N'Dour and for jazz bands (Hank Jones, Dee Dee Bridgewater). He has also collaborated with musicians Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz, Rocket Juice & the Moon) and Mamadou Diabate (Masaba Kan).
After having brilliantly directed the album “Red Earth” by Dee Dee Bridgewater and that of the Malian diva Oumou Sangaré, Cheick produced a magnificent acoustic album, entirely recorded in Bamako, with prestigious guests Toumani Diabaté, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Oumou Sangaré, Amadou & Mariam, and Manu Dibango, around a sextet formation reflecting an insolent musical freedom.
