Nils Landgren Funk Unit is one of the best funk groups in mainland Europe. The group was formed in 1992, and in three years released their first record.
They are not just one of the most important jazz-funk bands of his country but a large family that, over the last 20 years and through 11 releases in the solid German label ACT, has evolved into an institution, having created its own universe by inviting emblematic figures of the musical tradition they serve, such as James Brown and Ray Parker Jr. The result sounds like a delightful tribute to the greats of the funk school, free from nostalgic elements but with a mood to start the party at any moment.
Cast: Nils Landgren (Trombone, Vocals), Magnum Coltrane Price (Bass, Vocals, Keyboards), Jonas Wall (Tenor Saxophone, Vocals), Andy Pfeiler (Guitar, Vocals), Petter Bergander (Keyboard, Vocals), Robert Ikiz (Drums)
