Live concert from the Candiani Groove in Venice with the extraordinary Jazz of the Brazilian TONINHO HORTA.
The concert is part of the Venezia Jazz Festival, organized by Veneto Jazz.
Adored by a multitude of guitarists and composers, Toninho Horta achieved success in 1972, when he played guitar on Milton Nascimento's album "Clube da Esquina". In the following years he recorded with Elis Regina, Gal Costa, Nana Caymmi, Joyce, Edu Lobo. Famous artists, from Pat Metheny to Naná Vasconcelos and Eliane Elias, have played on his albums.
In particular, Pat Metheny created his most beautiful compositions during the collaboration with Toninho Horta, influenced by the school of Minas Gerais and the incredible technique of Horta. In 2020, he won the Latin Grammy. He arrives in Venice with an exceptional band: Alfredo Paixao, one of the best Brazilian electric bassists; the great Venetian saxophonist Pietro Tonolo; drummer and vibraphonist Jorge Rossy at the top of the world on his instrument.
