Born to a French mother and a Burkinabe/Senegalese father, Jennifer "Hawa" Zonou has been immersed in the world of Afro-American music since a very young age.
As she approached her 20th birthday, she revealed herself to be a real talent as a singer and quite naturally began her musical journey with the best school there is, gospel. With her first album "My Little Green Box" released in 2011, the Lyonnaise reveals a real stage presence, a spontaneity and a capacity to move which satisfies the very diverse audiences she meets, whether on blues, jazz or current music, and whatever the generations.
Her sound is permeated by artists like the Staple Singers, the Isley Brothers, Shirley Ann, labels such as Hi Records, Sun, Stax, and finally brilliant producers like Willy Mitchell, Jack Nitzsche or Phil Spector. Hawa is direct, sensitive, deep. And his songs are all the more intense, original and elegant.
Cast: Jennifer "Hawa" Zonou (Voice), Bruno "Patchworks" Hovart (Bass), Remy "one shot" Kaprielan (Drums), Nicolas Mondon (Guitar), Pierre Vadon (Keyboards)
